This Sunday 31 May we are permitted to hold services of up to 100 people. We rejoice that we are able to gather in greater numbers as we celebrate Pentecost.
We will hold services at 8am and 10am
The 8am will be a service of Morning Prayer from the BCP - (the Green Book) without hymns.
The 10am will be a service of Morning Prayer (NZ Prayer Book) with hymns.
The decision to have Morning Prayer for this Sunday is so that we get used to dealing with the social distance and other requirements before we make the step-up to Eucharist with its additional complexities under Covid19. We expect that all going well we will move to celebrating Eucharist the following week. Morning tea will also have to wait for now.
Please ensure you wash your hands thoroughly with soap before leaving home. You will be asked to use hand sanitiser on arrival.
Please observe physical distancing as you arrive and gather. We will observe distancing requirements in the church, keeping separation between each individual or bubble. We will only use every second row of seats. If you are asked to move along, or to shift rows, please be understanding as we seek to accommodate everyone within the requirements.
Contact tracing will be undertaken by having someone take your name and phone number as you arrive.
We will also be taking a photograph of the congregation to keep as a record for contact tracing as to who sat where. The photo will not be used for any other purpose.
The offertory plates will be located at the crossing – they will not be passed from hand to hand. Please place your offering in the plate as you enter.
If you are unwell, or if you are vulnerable to infection, please stay away. We will continue making worship resources and my sermon available here (and by email if you wish) to provide for those unable to gather in person.
And finally, we know this is going to be a bit strange and is not exactly how we would ideally want things to be. However, we have a duty of care for one another. So please exercise grace to those leading and to one another as we navigate this together.
Grace and peace,
Stuart Goodin, Vicar
